ABT Marine, in collaboration with various research institutions of repute can support operations in the field of marine archaeology. This can be done by applying the company’s various remote sensing tools to systematic survey projects. Such projects are mainly aimed at the discovery, mapping and recording of underwater cultural heritage. The detailed documentation of the discovered sites is done via a remote operated vehicle that can be deployed in up to 300 meters of water. On board instruments such as sonar and camera permit archaeologists to record details at very high resolutions. All this information can be used to populate existing and/or new databases that are specifically aimed at the protection and preservation of submerged cultural heritage.
